The Texas Rangers are eight games below .500 at home and sitting in last place in the AL West Division standings. On Saturday, Texas SP Kolby Allard (3-11) gave up five runs in six innings and took the loss. Adolis Garcia homered and scored both runs in a losing effort for the Rangers (44-85).
Twenty-six year old lefty Taylor Hearn (3-4 4.08 ERA) will make his sixth start of the season for the Rangers. Last time out, Hearn gave up three runs across five frames during a 7-3 road victory against Cleveland.
